Playground!!!

First time at a real playground...wwoooohooo....

This playground is great....the rope bridge Kasyfi is in has three stages which I like to call, the beginners stage, intermediate stage and advanced stage...hehehe..this one is the beginners stage...short distance and closer to the ground....the advanced one is huge..tall..and... By the end of our play session Kasyfi was determined to go up the advanced rope bridge. I was, according to my sister, an embarassment coz i kept screaming and yelling.."be careful Kash..slowly kash...you're doin great...CAREFUL!!!" hehhe...

The kids with him are the neighbourhood children who are 'regulars' to this playground. It was kind of sweet... the moment we stepped on to the playground this little boy in the picture took Kasyfi by the hand and started showing him around...

In that space of 40 minutes he taught Kasyfi loads of stuff....I was really impressed with how this kid really wanted Kasyfi to learn eveything about the slide and ropes etc.... very cool. When I think of it now it was probably because majority of the other kids were girls! hahahha... I guess the kid was 'recruiting' more lads.

Next obstacle....up the stairs to get to the giant slide.....

He's almost all grown up it seems....and he's only 2 yrs old!! hehhehe....I find nothing more wonderful to see than my kids discovering something that attracts and interests them.....its just fun..

I remember at this point I was watching the kids take Kasyfi up and I thought, Kasyfi's alright....?!? He's getting on really well with these kids....and he's having fun.... I should really freagin' chill out..! so it's high up...relax...the ground is padded with rubber...hahhaha

Now down the slide......

Trial run with Abang Iswandy first......

And now on his own....handal tiaaaaaa.....hehehhe

I love how this playground in particular has a safe padded floor, just look at it, lovely...! huge improvement ....i remember the playground we used to play at when I was a kid...there were patches of grass here and there which you could literally trip over on, stones, pebbles and rocks everywhere and sand and soil where after rain, puddles and puddles would soak the whole playground..... yea very safe back in the 80s..!!

Yup I like this place....definately going back there again....BUT next time I'm bringing a broom....just bits of cigarette stubs, lollipop sticks scattered....someones gotta clean up.....! Might as well be us...

Kasyfi with his 'gang' ..poor Nawi.... u wait till mommy sweeps this whole place up and soaks it in disinfectant and rinse it down for you ...OK....hahhahahaha.... *not joking!!

With Nini Tua

Here's Kasyfi last week while visiting Nini Boy outside of SICU. His Nini Tua was so eager to carry him everywhere and that, to Kasyfi, is his next victim target. Yes, victim. Kasyfi has a way of finding in a crowd the person who will do everything and anything he says and wants. and so this time it was his nini Tua...hehhehehe.

Mengaji Time

Kasyfi had his first mengaji lesson on Friday, 23rd April 2010 at my friend's house. His classmates are Hanan, Jo's son and Alya, Syida's daughter. I actualy had a video of their lesson that day but Kasyfi accidentally deleted it from my phone! I'll try record another video next lesson.

Here we are at home doing 'revision' of what he learnt last lesson. The big flip cards were a gift from Kasyfi and Nawi's 2nd parents, Ummie Asmah and Bapa Zul. They'll be so proud to know that the jawi cards have been put to good use....hehehhe....

One thing is, Kasyfi seems like he will not give you the time of day unless there is something in it for him. So, to get him to recap on what he's learnt I promised that he could play with his sand pit after he reads 'alif' till 'zai'..... works to an extent, the only thing is that once you promise a reward it must be followed through....hehehhehe...

Kasyfi's Moses Basket

Here's Kasyfi regressing back to his infant days.....!!

We were preparing the moses basket to lend to a friend who is going to have her first baby...aawwww....

Here's Nawi being the 'older' brother looking after the 'baby'..hahhaha... Nawi always seems a bit older than normal somehow...??!??

Our Second Singapore Trip

This was our recent trip to Singapore in February. was supposed to be just me and Sam going but then ended up last minute bringing the kids ... SPOILLLERRR BIG TIME!!!

Anyway, what I learnt was....if you don't bring the maid = NO PROPER SHOPPING...actually, if u bring kids = NO PROPER SHOPPING... so people, always bring a maid with you when travelling....

Here we are at Paragon. Kasyfi spotted his hero, Thomas.... but if you see the video we don't know why he was so stiff..??? hehehhe

Sign Language: PLEASE

Another dream come true.....Nawi can sign the word "Please"... 'Please' is indicated by rubbing the chest in circular movement (or something similar ..lah!). I've seen two babies do a bit of sign language before in the past but I never really taught Kasyfi to sign, probably it was because before I thought it was IMPOSSIBLE to teach babies to sign...BUT now.... I'm proud to report to all sceptic parents, IT IS POSSIBLE!!

He's almost got the hang of saying 'thank you' also but instead if touching his chin out, he touches my chin instead!

I'm trying to teach him the word 'pain' so he can indicate where he is hurting. I need him to touch his two index fingers together over the area that hurts...

Cool stuff this sign language...!!

Visiting Nini Boy at SICU

Here's Kasyfi hanging around outside the SICU where his grandad is ..... Children aren't allowed inside so Kasyfi just entertained everyone with his story of how "dirty" the floor was and how there are 'tikus' in the ventilators......macam macam juaaa.....

Nawi was at home...decided not to bring him ...... i'll bring him to visit once their grandad is out of SICU......

Artwork No.3

Nenek Gadong Boy is in Surgical I.C.U. ........very unexpected... Cardiac arrest but was able to be revived. Today we will see if the respirator can be removed. He was awake yesterday for a short time but we can tell that he really has a lot to say...but unfortunatly he can't speak yet.... Must be awful to not be able to say what you need to say.... :(

When I'm The Only One Awake

We finally have our internet back on again at home.

I can't sleep. Kasyfi has just fallen asleep and Nawi was already knocked out long time ago...!

Kasyfi had a good long afternoon nap so I'm not surprised that he was still wide awake at 10pm.

He and I shared an apple just now. We had a little conversation all 'whisper' tone because Nawi was asleep. I think Kasyfi only just learnt to whisper, he usually can't or can't be bothered to control the loud volume of his voice but now he's getting very good at keeping his voice down.

So anyway, there we were just quietly eating our apple and then at the last slice Kasyfi picked up the slice, handed it to me and said "Mama makan...". Sweet huh??!! Whispering so that Nawi won't wake up and then offering the last slice to his mummy....aaawwwww... Isn't he being an angel...??!! aawwww.... I must remember this moment....

Then just at that second when I was thinking about what a big boy Kasyfi is now, I suddenly thought of how much his Grandad must be missing him. And then that made me think of all the years of Kasyfi and Nawi's growing up their Grandad would be missing. :(

It's so distressing to be in a situation in which you have no power over. It's even more worse not knowing how their Grandad is going to be over the years and wondering if this would have any effect on their relationship in the future?

Please, please, let their Grandad make it through in good health during his time in which he has to be there because his grandkids need him back as soon as he can come home. The days pass by as usual but only one thing is difficult to get used to, that is the absence of the daily visits of their Nenek Gadong....probably the only part of the day which those two really look forward to.

Any sound of a car pulling into the garage and Kasyfi would race to the door or window, jumping up and down shouting, "Nenek datang, nenek datang" ...all on going activities stop and put on hold all because the Guest of Honour has arrived.

Remembering the way it used to be saddens me because it really is going to be a long time till they can expect their 'Guest of Honour' to come around to visit the house.

And when he finally does come over, well, the kids won't be 1 and 2 yrs old anymore....hehhe..they'll be big and have their own minds and probably be too busy with homework!

But I suppose, 'better late than never'.......
