Here's Kasyfi with his Ustazah. He had a very good lesson that day, probably partly because Nawi was asleep and so he was able to concentrate more.

Here's Nawi in his mengaji clothes but he fell asleep just before the Ustazah turned up. Poor thing. The second lesson he was awake and they hardly did any learning at all...too busy laughing and playing.

I love the new chairs I got specifically for this class. very similar to the STOKKE chairs but this one is from FLEXA. love it...love it...!

Happy Birhday Sam, Darling!!!

We had a BBQ for Sam at the weekend of his birthday but for his actual birthday date, I asked him what he would like to do....he simply wanted to spend time with just the boys and me. And so that's what we did.

Ran out to get a small cake with his favourite flavour, white chocolate. Glad he loved it. We sang Happy Birthday and blew out the candle 3 times...one for sam, then Kasyfi and then Nawi...

It was perfect! After that the boys gave their dad his birthday present... A Harley Davidson vest for him to wear at night.... I've seen Sam ride his bike at night and I feel his break lights are quite low that it's hard to see if you're right behind him. So, for his safety of course, I went out and got him a vest with reflectors. Hope he uses it the next time he's on one of his night rides... ;)

The boys were having a little argument about whatever it was.... and Nawi obviously was upset. So I come along and tell Kasyfi to appologise. And so he goes and says sorry and then labih labih tia...! He was trying to make it up to Nawi by giving nawi not one, but ALL his toys.... Then for this picture made him put his arm around Nawi...lol

Can't seem to tell if Kasyfi's sorry was sincere or not....hhhmmmm....????

My Quarterly Girlie Get Together

Our long awaited pot luck lunch. As always, enjoyable and LOUD as ever...!! This time we had a get together for Rozi who was leaving for the UK to do her PHD.... CONGRATULATIONS!!! And also this was our first time meeting Ardina's new baby girl, Nurul Lily Jasmine. CONGRATULATIONS!! Hearing about her labour story was bloody scary!!! At some parts of the description I wanted to just shut my ears and sing..!! lol.

During our previous lunches we always seem to have an overload of food. Very overwhelming! But this time we controlled our food amount and it was great. Nil stress looking at wour spread. I wish I had taken a photo of the food we used to have in the past... was just way way way too much food.

Really enjoyable session. Look forward to the next get togther.. ;)

Happy 5th Anniversary, Sam, Love of my Life!

We celebrated our 5th anniversary with a perfect dinner that evening, just the two of us. I never seem to take a photo of us together during our anniversary. Probably it's because we don't focus on our phones too much when we are out on this special day. It's all about the company. Nice to go out on a date now and again.

So on the day of the anniversary Sam asks me what he could get for me. I obviously couldn't think of anything really so I said, "nothing...let's just go out for dinner.." but then.. I was out window shopping and saw this adorable tea set!!! It was perfect!! A gift to me is something you really love but probably would never bother buying it for yourself. So this was perfect for me!! Told him that I was in love with this tea set and he went out and bought it.... aawwwww.....THANX B!!!!

Tutong Family Hari Raya Celebration

This is not exactly everyone yet.... ani baru yang attend this function....These are families of my Dad's brothers and sister, families of my first cousins too. There are tons of them that it's so difficult for me to keep track of their names!!

That's us during the function. Kasyfi stuck with his game. I am one of the youngest cousin amongst my first cousins on my Tutong side. because of that I have many nieces and nephews who are close to my age or even older....I even have grandkids too it appears...lol... isn't that just unbelievable....! :P

Our lucky little boy had 3 seperate birthdays to celebrate... One in school with his little friends, one at our home and another at his Nini Iring's house.... Three cakes!! OMG!!

The Angry Bird cake was the cake we had at home, specially from his Aunty Suzy.

Here we are at Nini Iring's house for Hari Raya and Kasyfi's cake cutting with his Nini Tutong and Nini Angut present too this time.

He loved all his cakes... Kasyfi with his cousins and Nini Girl and Nini Tutong.

Here he is with his school friends. I couldn't think of a better cake so we just made a repeat cake of the Lightening McQueen. It was such a hit and it was finished in a matter of minutes! Everyone loves McQueen, apparently?!?!?

This is just a fraction of the Kindy population. The teacher took a few of them at first just to sing and blow out candles but after seeing the Lightening McQueen cake the crowd grew a bit bigger.. hehhehe.. Kasyfi really enjoyed it. Can't wait for Nawi's birthday with his classmates. Should be fun too...I love doing stuff like this!! :D

I personally did not take any pictures during Hari Raya.... malas ku! These are the few I've managed to find and the ones I like all because obviously I look HOT in them...hahahhaha.. :P

I've recently chopped off my long hair and am now wearing my hair really short way above my shoulders and so these pictures just remind me of 'the old me'... *sniff *sniff*

This time Hari Raya open house at our place was great. It wasn't overwhelmingly crowded like last year when we first moved in and I was especially NOT happy how the living room cushions did not match the carpet and the furniture. This year I managed to re-organise the house just the way I like it.

And since we held it on a Saturday this time and not on a Sunday like last time, we were able to recieve the Public Sector people during their lunch break and all the Private Sector working people all came after the lunch break which worked out nicely...Sam and I actually had time to sit, chit chat and mingle properly which was nice for a change.. :)

This day was really sweet. Sam arranged a Sungkai dinner for my family and got them all together at the Polo Club. I was of course surprised because Sam is usually so damn busy that he just simply has no time to coordinate anything like this. Later I found out his little elf helping him was my cousin, Asmah..! hehehe.. She then took the opportunity to *hint *hint to her husband..."this is what you do for "birthdays"..." hehehhe...

Zul, Asmah's birthday is in 2 weeks time....sort something out!!!! hahahha :D

It was my MIL's birthday and my appetite that evening was so bad. Could not find anything that I really wanted to eat. I was a few weeks pregnant at that time and I guess it explains everything.

Nawi and His Disappearing Act Gone Horribly Wrong

In a previous post I wrote about "The Day Nawi Did A Houdini", I talked about how Nawi hid one day which made us all panic like crazy coz we had no idea where he was hiding...turns out he was in the wardrobe sulking away...now I can laugh about it but it was such a scare at the time.

If I thought that was bad, this time was WORSE!!

Yesterday Nawi asked me if he could have some ice cream. I told him 'no' all because if I give him ice cream it would mean I have to give Kasyfi ice cream which I really couldn't coz Kasyfi is having a bad cough at the moment.
Anyway, after I told Nawi the 'devastating' news he ran to the back kitchen. I didn't bother coz the maids were there anyway. Then minutes later the maids were in a panic!

Nawi had locked himself in the maid's bedroom! Clever boy!

The key for that bedroom door is apparently quite hard to unlock and so Nawi couldn't turn it back himself. We all looked in through the grilled window and found him standing at the door playing with the key. We tried to get him to pull out the key but he couldn't.

Kasyfi helped by talking to Nawi through the door telling him "Dont cry Nawi, we're going to get you out of there...I love you Nawi.." aawwww so adorable... I actually thought for a second...hhmm keep nawi in there and at least we have a bit of peace..no fighting between the two of them.. :P

We spent about 10-15 minutes trying to get the door unlocked. Me yelling instructions to Nawi and everyone, including my neighbours maid and gardener, cheering him on to follow what I say. It was madness!! I was telling him, "how you turned the key, do the same only the other way..!!!" then he tries it and says to us "Macam aniii???? pusing kunci???? macam aniiiii?????" and we're all cheering him...." Yess Nawi, Macam atu..." then I go mental for a few seconds shouting..."bah kuat KUAT..!!!"

Then I though, okay forget it, no use, call the fire brigade! The only reason why I know to do this is because Syida's little boy, Iman, was also stuck in the toilet a couple of months ago and I remember Syida being told over Facebook to call the fire brigade. Yeap, she had time to facebook it..!! crazy!!! hahahha ... So I called 995, yes thats 995.. I was really surprised that they actually turned up quite quickly. I was expecting them to arrive in 3 hours or something ridiculous like that!

So the guys came, I told them the story, they assessed the situation and all the exit points and then the first thing their main fireman says to me.."Is there really any ice cream for him to eat??" i say, "yes...why?" he tells me.. "okay get some for him.." and he feeds Nawi ice cream through the window....hahahhaha.

He said, "payah ni ia ani macam ani, can be very dangerous if Nawi likes to just run off like that.." obviously I was agreeing with him....

So they found the only solution was to knock the lock open. BUT before they start damaging anything they had to wait for the police to arrive and make an official report first. procedure...! so while we were waiting these 4 or was it 5 big firemen are all talking to Nawi through the grilled window and feeding him ice cream...yeeesh! That sure made his day.

While waiting, Nawi actually fell asleep!! It was his nap time anyway. So the firemen looked at him sleeping and thought.."awwww...poor thing..lets just knock down the door now..get him out of there"
So, we decided to knock the door down before the police came and I told them not to worry I won't sue them... :P

all the hammering and banging and Nawi was still fast asleep! Got the door opened and then the police arrived shortly after that.

Can't believe what just happened. One little boy and 7 men's attention to rescue him...!

And then it was all over... wonderful Firemen and Policemen at our home... we're just so glad to get Nawi out of the room...

Since Nawi was asleep by the time we got him out he missed the Firetruck and Police car. Kasyfi was on his own admiring his two favourite vehicles especially the police car which he was convinced was Bumblebee and would turn into a Transformer robot any second! cute..

Poor Nawi, missed out on the REAL fun!! aawwww.....

*So parents in Brunei, fire brigade - 995, if your toddler is stuck in a room and you can't get them out....this is the person to call....!*

Wow!! I'm Back!!

It's seriously been such a long time since I wrote in this blog. I've been a little bit more preoccupied with my makeup blog it seems.

Anyway, a brief update.
- The two boys have both started in their new school now. They are loving it although it's the same old story with Kasyfi especially. His early morning "I son't like school, Kasyfi stay at home saja...No mandi, I don't wan't to pakai baju sekolah..." bla bla bla...
So now the routine for them is, no shower ...just change clothes for school. Kasyfi is the only boy in kindy who does NOT wear his school uniform. But I've spoken to the teachers and they say it's fine as long as he turns up for school. PHEW!
Nawi is really good when I drop him off to his class... he says bye and sees something he likes and then he's gone...doesn't even turn back to see me anymore.... it's good in a way because if Nawi was as clingy as Kasyfi I'd be at their school the whole morning.
Kasyfi takes Nawi into class and then gives Nawi a hug and a kiss everyday before he heads of to his Kindy area. He even tells Nawi that we'll fetch him later after school. He talks like a real BIG brother. We all find that sweet. The teachers can't imagine them fighting... little do they know!!

Kasyfi, on the other hand, after we've dropped off Nawi, he all of sudden turns into a ball of clingy goo...!! Some days I don't mind hanging around with him for a bit but on other days I just wana whack him and run!! He clings on to me and starts pulling my clothes and poking my face..! when I'm not pressed for time I play with him briefly which is kind of fun with all the toys they have there. It really is very interesting stuff! One time they were making mud pies. Love that..! hahaha. But on a very good day...he'll find something he is interested in turns to me and says something like "okay mama, you go to work and fetch Kasyfi later." and I think to myself...YESSSS...BYEEEE..!! And from there my day is usually pretty good... :D

I dug up this black jacket and trouseres outfit which was given to Kasyfi long, long time ago when he was about 1 years old, I think? Unfortunately we never got around to getting Kasyfi wear this because I think I was waiting for an appropriate occassion for him to put it on. That time never really came and now Kasyfi has outgrown these clothes.

So one night, when I was bored and Sam was out attending some HOG meeting and Kasyfi was fast asleep, Nawi and I decided to play dress up, again..!

Put this on him and started taking shots...he loved it. But he got hungry in the middle so now his shots are of him eating.

Our New Garden Lights

We fixed these lights last month but never turned them on...only for special occassions. On this night the kids wanted to play with fireworks and so we thought it was a good time to test out the lights. It was gorgeous, can't wait to have people over in the evenings..... hang out outside... Almost makes me feel sorry for giving up smoking!! LOL...!! :P

D.I.Y. Decorating : Upstairs Guest Bathroom for Make-Up Clients

Taaadaaaa....!! This was my first 'sticker' job... I fell inlove with stickers all because of this bathroom..hehehe.

It's all pink because this is MY section of the house, and because Sam says "No Pink" anywhere else in the house except here. All my crafty stuff and make-up work is done upstairs and when my make-up clients come up they can now use this bathroom. It used to be where I would store all my gangsas/trays and so this was not functioning back then.

NOW its perfect!!!! Seriously, when people come up to my make-up room and use this bathroom, they know they've just entered another dimension! hehehhe

D.I.Y. Decorating : Kid's Playroom

Wall stickers are nothing new. My friend was selling them ages ago but I was never that much into it. I actually thought the idea of sticking these on the walls was messy! But then just a couple of weeks ago I ran into these stickers in the shops and it was sooo damn cheap. First I bought the giraffes, then I thought....aaawwww..cute jua. Then I bought the blue airplanes and motorcyles stickers...which at that point, after sticking them all up, I thought, oh no I've over done it this time!

But then my sister wanted to buy some and took me with her to the shops. bad idea, I also ended up buying stickers!!

Got dinosaur stickers, it's behind the curtains....can only see them in the daytime when the curtains are drawn. And the sheep, yea that one I bought coz I loved it, I knew it wasn't a 'boy' thing but something just came over me. I didn't stick the sheep immediately, kept it for a while until I found the boys wooden name letters in my room. I was meaning to stick them up since we moved in a year ago! So when I stuck the letters up I then had a great idea to stuff the sheep around it too....LOL.. hey it worked. I really like it. OTT but I love it....hahahha.. I should take a shot of the other wall. My sister describes it as someone being punched and seeing stars...!! hahaha :p

D.I.Y. Decorating : Dining Roim Bay Window Seat

This area had no cushions previously. Now, since my crazy cushion buying phase, this red bench is wonderfully energised!! These embroided cushions are so colourful and bright that I just stare at them before I have my lunch/dinner.

My D.I.Y. Home Decorating : Living Room

Love these cushions!! Who wuld have known a simple cushion would make such a big difference.

Since a couple of weeks ago I've been loosing sleep thinking about what to do with our living room. It was so bare. The cushions didn't match anything and the coolurs were all over the place. No proper theme at all. So now, since Hari Raya sales have begun, I went over to Haus and bought a ton of cushions and Sam got this perfect ottoman too. Yup, we didn't have a coffee table for this area before!

And so this is now the final look. I hope to not be adding more and more stuff to it, especially now that I'm into the minimal look. The cushions, just be luck, matches the painting of buffalos I have on the wall... I just freakin' love it!!!

Before, I only had the brown cushions, the chairs, no coffee table and the big brown fuzzy carpet was upstairs and there was a smaller persian carpet down here which sort of made the space smaller than it actually was. But now this change is soooo much more homier and it's almost better than how I had imagined it.

Oh and since the two boys love to run around in the house we had to make sure that the furniture was safe for them too. We targeted this ottoman for a while now and now that it's in our house it's just perfect!!

One Evening

Few nights ago I was up wide awake in bed while Nawi was breastfeeding and falling asleep. I'm getting bored with Facebook (which is what I;d be doing in bed with my iPhone while Nawi is stuck on to me) and so now I've moved on to Instagramming pictures. I'm actually loving how the pictures comes out..."sakai"

And Kasyfi, no idea what he's doing here but I can recall him saying 'Jangut, jangut' for this shot here.... Just look at that face... he can make you mad to the point you just want to break his little fingers but at the same time you want to hug him and kiss him coz he's such a funny clown..uurrggh... I'm sooo torn!!

Stealing a shot of the boys ....

This green and blue Ikea table/chairs that we have is normally in their little play room. It's not exactly doing much in there except for giving the kids a platform to jump off from. So today I decided to bring it out and have them eat outside. Plus I need a 'coffee table' out here anyway!

So our morning was, breakfast and then hang on the monkey bars....

First Time on Their New Bicycles!

It's about time we got the boys proper bicycles, something else to pull them away from the TV and iPhone games. We went looking around for bikes a few weeks ago already and there was a huge stock of new bicyclesthat had just come in and we thought..okay we'll think about it... days went by and I stopped over the shop again and nearly more than half of the bikes that we saw were GONE!!

Immediately decided to just go ahead and buy them the bikes. I was a bit surprised when Kasyfi said he also wanted a blue bike. We were predicting that he may want a red one since red has always been his favourite colour. Luckily we found these nice blue bikes for them.

After we bought the bikes we went straight to their Nini Girl's house to test them out.

Nawi is already a huge fan of motorbikes and he almost instantly knew how to ride his bicycle. He is just so good at it!! And he even likes to wear his helmet now whenever he rides...awww ..just like his papa.

Kasyfi's interst in bicycles isn't as much as Nawi's but he eventually did find what he loves about riding his bike..and that is... pushing it up a slope and just rolling forward fast.... suka tah ia tu..! Look at 'em... freakin' everyone out!

It really is such a joy to watch Nawi's enthusiasm...

The Hibiscus

I have just discovered that if you had to plant one flowering plant let it be the Hibiscus. Why?? Because this flower comes in very handy when children learn about flowers and their parts. Teachers always advise to use hibiscus when learning about flowers.

Yes..I remember in school we had to bring in these flowers and we were lucky because they would be growing everywhere back then. But now it I happen to find it difficult to find any. Andangnya kalau time berguna benda atu nada tia ada!

Today Kasyfi went to school pretty excited because today they are having their Little Botanist day where they will cut up flowers and have a close look inside. I hope he'll tell me all about it later.

Our New Climbing Frame..!!

We've been noticing the boys hanging off the edge of tables and chairs and wherever they can and just hanging there... They seem to enjoy doing that... *roll eyes*

So we went online to search for a simple climbing frame. I love this one we bought because you can increase the height as the kids grow and it also has extra add ons if you wish to give it more obstacles. Plus I wanted something we could just leave outside without having to worry about any wood rotting, etc....

This one is a basic frame which is suitable for kids from 3 years old onwards.

It's very sturdy and actually quite simple to put together. Honestly, when we recieved the box and I saw all the parts I wanted to cry...it just looked impossible to set up. But the trick is to only deal with it when your in the mood, in a good mood and when the kids are asleep!

The funny thing was that Sam wanted me to wait for him because he said he wanted to put it together. So I thought ok... but then I thought if I had to wait for him I'd be waiting all year!! And I needed to get this thing up so that the kids could play with it. So I went ahead and assembled it myself...hehe. When Sam came home I said that he could help stick the hook pegs in the ground to secure the frame... so I went off and left it to him to do. When I got back it was as if nothing had moved and I found him inside the house watching TV!!
I said, "Sam, have you done it??"

He says, "I can't get the pegs in.."

and I say,"Whaddaya mean u can't??!?"

then he says, "It's not possible.."

then I say, "did you read the instructions??"

bla bla bla....long winded explaination....

then we both went outside to fix 'the problem'. And then I showed him another way to fix the pegs and it was done...!!

Serisously, I don't know what MEN in general would do without WOMEN!!

Then my closing statement was, "SAM..!! You're an engineer for Godsake!!!??!?! ....Oh my days!"... again couldn't help but *roll my eyes*

After putting this frame together I just felt so proud..hehhehe... told my neighbours that I did it, NOT Sam...hahhahehehhehe....

Aaaawwww... that's cute..... :)

Kash loves it!!! Oh and during this time Nawi was fast asleep but he loves it too... He spent hours just hanging on the bars, falling to the ground and repeating again and again. I woke up today with all my muscles sore!

*sigh* just thinking.... Kasyfi and Nawi will both be in school by September... Wouldn't it be a dream to have another baby......???!?

Whenever I hold someone's baby, Kasyfi's ok with it...it's Nawi...he's the one who is overly possessive with me right now. He says things like, "Nawi punya tuu....!!" while running over sitting on my lap just after I've handed back a baby to the mummy. And I would ask him, "Nawi punya apa....??" and he would say with a big voice, "Nawi punya MAMA tu....!"

So right now...I AM "PROPERTY" of Nawi.... LOL :P

One of those nights, can't remember when, I had the urge to make more baby cakes quickly.... and my boy Kasyfi just had to tag along with me... he was fine in the beginning and then he got sooo annoying... !!!!

Then he found my camera and started taking pictures. I was already on a roll and just couldn't stop so I told him... "yea ok ok fine.. go take whatever pictures you want... " Normally I would NEVER let him touch my new camera but this time...my mind was somewhere else...

This kid..never trust him... serisously...! He was kicking a fuss this morning not wanting to have his bath and so I whipped out a new bottle of bubbles for him ...which he instantly liked and got up. I told him to use just a bit.... and I went ahead with putting my makeup on.

I was just outside the door, was ablr to hear him playing and having fun and so I thought...good lah...then when I peeked in to see him I saw a mountain of bubbles in the tub...!! He had poured the whole contents of the bottle in there.... OMG!! AAhh..what was I thinking??!?!

The Day Nawi Did A Houdini

Today is July 1st 2011. I feel I have to document this day because it is the first time I have ever felt that I had literally 'lost' one of my sons.

Friday morning, our usual long bath tub day, then breakfast in front of the TV....relaxing stuff, Sam at work.

So the day went along... and Nawi wanted something, can't remember exactly what it was, but i remember telling him NO. And that's when it began..... the attention grabbing cry! It was inconsolable and intentional so I thought...aah.. i'll let him cry it out.

I went over to KASyfi watching tv while Nawi carried on his wailing .... i'm kinda getting immune to it now..yaye! LOL..

anyway.. not too long after sitting down with Kash, Nawi stopped crying. And I thought...'finally!' Peace! A minute later I got up, turned around, walked over to where Nawi was but I was surprised that he wasn't where I left him. The thing about Nawi is that when he's "upset" he goes away and hides. Sometimes we find him hiding in the garden amongst the potted plants! That's how severe it can get for him...it's okay as long as we can find him.

But this time, to my horror, I had no idea where he was.....!!

I searched a bit more, checked his toy room, toy room toilet, kitchen, maids quarters, at the back, front garage, all around the house. No where! Then I got a bit worried... got the maid to help me look upstairs also... She went up and told me he wasn't there. And thats when I got absolutely FREAKED OUT!!! I was yelling and yelling, "Nawi...WHERE ARE YOU?!?!"

The thoughts going through my mind were disturbing... what if he jumped from the balcony! Then I thought..NAH that can't be, I just walked around the whole house...no body! ... :P Then I thought...What if he's hit his head and fainted....but where?!?! Then I thought, what if h

e's been kidnapped?!?! hhmm how...? The gates locked..nobody comes around here....hhmmm...NAAAH... - seriously too much tv for me...damn you 'Lovely Bones'..! But all these thoughts weren't exactly making me feel any better... I was going on over drive searching for him.

I was ready to loose it... we were calling out his name but no response. Then I

checked his toy room again.... And there he was.....Inside his wardrobe sitting with one door open so I could see him.

*deep breath* *SIGH* ....

I went up to him and kneeled down to his level... "Nawi..? What are you doing in here??" He looked at me then just looked down... clearly was not a happy bunny...aaaaawwwww

I was just so relieved to find him....Picked him up ...big hugs n kisses...he was fine after that... Me...masih trauma sikit laaaa...

Then later after this incident I talked to Nawi and said... "Nawi, lain kali kalau Nawi marah jangan Nawi tapuk macam atu ah... Takut mama tadi inda tecari Nawi....okay...?" then he nodded his head..

Belabih...banartah!! I'm now thinking...hhmmm..is he going to be this way when he's a teenager?? Gona be hard to track him down if he has a car .... gota get those micro chip seeking devices implanted into the kids skin!!! seriously....!!

The picture above was taken several weeks before the Houdini day happened. It was while I was teaching my Make-up Class at home. Nawi was being moody about something and his uncle managed to take a shot of him in here. I should have known this is where he could have been hiding again...! This was the exact same face he was giving me when I found him. hehehe

Kasyfi is still on his school break and I also happen to be on-leave at the moment. I've been promising Kasyfi that I'd take him to the workshop to have a look what goes on in there. He's just sooo crazy about cars especially Mercedes. Seeing from the photo above you can tell those two were having the time of their lives..!! hehehhe

At Fauziah's Wedding

Here we are at Fauziah and Hadi's Bersanding Ceremony. It was at the Polo Club and very sweet and simple event. She looked gorgeous....! and they both looked very happy. :D

Little bit about the picture... we were all trying to get a chance to take a shot with the couple but family members and god knows who else kept getting on the pelamin before us.. it was like a tug-of-war who can get up there the fastest. They wouldn't even let heavily pregnant Dina on stage first either.... jerks, (when i think about it, she's pregnant for fucksake...let her through!) oh well... i guess she had to be in labour for any attention to be given?!?! :P

So finally after waiting for quite a while girls just barged on stage like a planned attack... it was hilarious in the end..... this photo was like a VICTORY shot!! hahhaha... we were all kinda thinking..YESSSs..finally... gila batah kami nunggu nunggu....! LOL. Seriously, if it wasn't for Fauziah being the bride I would have walked out an hour earlier!

So YES!!... CONGRATULATIONS FOZ AND HADI!!! You guys made it....finally!!

Here we are squished together ...

This was a waaay over due lunch get together...finally found time to pull it off this year. This time was particularly difficult to find time all because I had just moved house, then it was Hari Raya, and then when I was finally settled down enough to call them over, the kids caught a fever adn so did the other kids, Dhamia, Naylie and Safura. It was just a mess!

The last time we had this, Dina had just had her new baby girl, Safura. This time our wonderful latest news was that Fauziah's Newly Wed to Hadi....! It's great that there's always something new everytime we meet up because we don't meet up that often, in fact.

Didi, latest news I guess would be that since Naylie's last fever, which scared didi a lot, she's become more spiritual... more praying and less.. hhmm i dunno! LOL

Rozi, latest news is I guess, studying her butt of for the coming GO FR exams. She just took time out to come for lunch. Oh and did you know she makes a mean 'Beef salad'...we are a huge fan of this dish now!!!

Other good news this time was also that Dina's preggers...agaain. This baby will be the 6th one in the group of kids we have now. aaawwww.....

And Elia, heading off to Germany on holiday.... Hopefully she comes home with more good news.

Nawi is now into guns and shooting people down. We have no toy guns in the house but he imagines them with all sorts of other toys like this one. To him, anything can be a gun! freaky!!

I don't know if i'd be comfortable with one of my sons joining the army....nope...I don't think i'd encourage it. Unless...unless.. that is all they can ever think about and it makes them feel 'purposeful'... i wouldn't like it if they just felt the need to gun things down! That would be insane!!

The Ambuyat Experience

This was taken in Tutong at my Tangah's house. We were attending my cousin's funeral. I honestly, personally did not know her all too well. Probably it was because of the huge age gap that we have on my dad's side. For some people, the age of our oldest 1st cousin is the age of their grandparent! Seriously ..not kidding..! So yea, I was the later edition to the generation.

During this funeral, there was a table of ambuyat being served. All you had to do was pick up a 'candas' and go for it! And that's what Nawi did...! His first try at ambuyat and I think he enjoyed it.

But I'm not surprised, Nawi has this love for food.... quite adventurous. He'll try anything, and if he loves what he eats he'll just gobble it all up...! See, here he is going for seconds..!

He is on a roll....!!! Go Nawi...! :)

Our Latest Members Of The Family

My three earlier goldfish died while we were on our Singapore Trip sometime in March. It was unexplainable...??!!!?? Did the maid not feed them??!! UURRGGhhh!! watever! If you want something done right you just have to do it yourself.

So after a few weeks we decided to get more fish.. this time i bought 8 orange little goldfish and 1 black goldfish. I'm very into feng shui and I read somewhere that having this number of fish is said to be good.

Two months have gone by and they are all alive and well. Kasyfi and I just cleaned the tank out few days ago. He was soo helpful... so eager to do everything. He actually cleaned the stone coral whilst holding a hose to fill up another bucket. Such a little multi-tasker!!

Nawi was asleep...phew!!! hehehehe

Money Money Money..!

I can't remember if I had ever mentioned Kasyfi's other obsession..? Coins... Well he doesn't exactly collect coins... he just loves the sound of coins and the fact that so many of it can be played with like building blocks!

So this is what he's created... he says he's built a house for his Grandad. aaahuh..rite.

I think the interest with coins came about after watching UP! because there was that one scene where Carl and Ellie were trying to save money. And so they would put money in a jar and save up. Every time that scene comes on he has to point out the coins. This also helped explain a bit on saving money...which is always good to teach at this age...!

Fun With Lego

My mum went to UK and I specifically asked her not to buy nonsense toys and gave her a list of acceptable toys to buy for the kids. One of them were Legos. Lego's great coz it's been around for decades and really helps create good imagination. The only thing is, which I forgot to tell my mum, was to look at the age range. The age range for Lego is put there for a reason coz of the size of the parts. The older the age range the smaller the parts.

And so my mum came back with all this lego and a box of Lego for 7-12 year olds. I decided to hide it and thought I'd keep it until they're old enough. BUT the little boys found it.. i don't know how, but they tracked it down!

So no choice... and it was a lazy, chill Sunday, Sam decided to build the Lego car for them.

So here they are putting this delicate thing together. It was all in all, 50% arguing and tugging and whinning and pushing and yelling and the other 50% teamwork and civilised co-operation from the two of them! hahhahah.. it was madness but entertaining for me to watch from a distance.

Looking back at the pictures I don't know how Sam managed to fiddle with all those bits and pieces with Kasyfi hanging around like that..!

Phew..! almost all done....

Nawi jumps in to watch too... that's when the real fun begins!

NBT Treasure Hunters

The boys' Aunt Suzy is an avid NBT Treasure Hunt participant. This time their challenge was to build a car from recycable items. It was really funny coz I remember in school we were taught quite a bit about recycable materials etc BUT on this day we found ourselves asking, "Rubber bands, are rubber bands recycable??" and "Aluminium foil, is aluminium recycable.....!?!?!?!" hahhahaha... blurrrr....

When they came we managed to cough up satay sticks, small paper plates, a box, sellotape, scissors, etc which ALL just happen to be lying around the house. Seriously, in a normal household you would not get all this lying around. So in a way they chose the right house to raid.

Oh and best of all, my Sammy, the engineer... he also just happened to be lying around at home on a Sunday and was sooooo eager to help. It really jump started his day! lol...

And the final result....!! A hybrid car with cupcake liner headlights...hahhaha..
This design was one of the few to go far distance. Told Sam the good news and he got all proud saying, "Who is your husband..?? Who B, Who..??!!!" ... And this is me, *Roll Eyes*

If you haven't watched UP you really should. We watched this movie ages ago but Kasyfi wasn't interested in it at the time. I think he was only about 2 years old back then probably. Instead I found myself soaked up in tears just bawling my my eyes out!!! It's just an extraordinarily touching and heart warming story, so very special. Every single detail in the movie links up somewhere towards the middle and end.

Funny, these days we are glued to watching this DVD over and over again, which I don't mind at all. Kasyfi and Nawi are loving this movie a lot. Probably not so much about Carl and Ellie's relationship but more on the journey to Paradise Falls.

These are some of my favourite bits:

This is when Ellie met Carl. Both of them were so into 'The Spirit of Adventure'. This is where Ellie brings Carl into her secret club.

They grew up, got married, bought their childhood clubhouse where they first met and in this clip they had just finished decorating their house and put up their mail box. Carl accidentally marked his handprint but then Ellie added her hand print, in a way saying, 'It's perfect, see!'.

Then life goes on... they live happily married. This is soooo damn sweet. Would you believe it.. even this made me cry!!

This part just kills me!! Here Ellie falls sick and Carl visits her in hospital. OMG!! I was a mess watching this!!

Then Carl decides to fulfil Ellie's childhood dream of living on top of Paradise Falls.

His friend on the trip was Russel. This is Kasyfi's favourite.

So sweet, at the end of the movie Carl awards Russel with his club badge that Ellie had given him when they were kids. OMG!! At this stage I was crying too...aaarrrggghhh... what the hell's wrong with me!!!

Ellie kept a scrap book, and at the end of her scrap book, Carl realises that she had writen a note for him before she died.

*sniff sniff*, tissue tissue!! This really breaks my little heart...!! When I saw this I cried and cried and cried. OMG...!! The writer of this movie is a genius!! A true genius!!

Mother's day is especially very exciting for those 1st time mums and even more fun for those mums whos first kid only just started school...!! Like my Kasyfi.... he's been in school since January 2011 and the art work and stuff keep pouring in.

This one in particular really tugged at my heart strings.... he gave this plant and card to me when I was picking him up and, on the spot, I literally, nearly, almost burst into tears...! The teachers there all like to playfully tease me and I thought if i tear up now I'll never hear the end of it! They were already noticing me blush... and to hide it I said.."oh no lah..! That's just makeup blusher...hahahha" but really I was blushing...I felt like I was put on the spot all of a sudden.

*deep breath* yess.. it was all a very lovely experience. I can't wait for more of the little things the kids come home with to give ME....!! Really plasters a smile on ur face :D

Yess.. I've been planning this for a while now and the time has finally arrived! I decided several weeks back, that once Kasyfi masters the potty and passes potty training with flying colours then I would make a special treat for him and everyone.

And here it is... POTTY CUPCAKES!! Ordered 30 of them from 'Touch Of Sweetness' .

They looked sooo adorable.. The idea of it, when I explained it to some people, found it kind of gross but seeing it once it was made was fun to eat...hehehe. Red Velvet cupcakes.. who can resist?

It really looks like Kasyfi's favourite potty!! Very happy with the outcome!

The Boy's First Trampoline

This is actually a trampoline right..?! But here the boys are using it for leverage bounce for them to get closer to hit the ceiling fan with their plastic balls. They find it amusing how the ball whacks off from the fan so fast. hehhe..

This sized trampoline is actually meant for one kid at a time. But it's ok.... never leave your child unattended.... :P

Here's wishing my nephew a big CONGRATS on his graduation. We knew you could do it!! ;)

I think he's completed his National Diploma in Fabrication and Welding or somethin' like that... hehhehe.. not entirely sure but yea... somethin like that. :)

I think the teachers who taught him also need to be thanked too because we've seen his interest in welding develop and, I must say, it's very surprising to see how very keen he is in this area. The teachers must have done someting right!

Oh and another special thank you goes out to Benjamin Sanai whom I just met on the day of the graduation. He was very kind to take this shot of Boboy for me... as we all know, my iPhone is no match compared to the equipment he had..!!

Bring Your Kid To Work Day

Well, it's not quite 'bring your kid to work day' today... I just felt like bringing him in this afternoon coz I saw how wonderfully early he slept last night having such a packed day and skipped afternoon nap. In bed by 7.45... not bad!! Excellent really!!!

So today, I thought I'd keep him awake and take him into office and let him mess about at his little table that I already prepared... *good thinking* hehehe

Tip for bringing kids into work... No point bringing too many of KIDS stuff... won't be too interested. They will love playing with real office stationary... anything you can let them handle... just let them... Oh and snacks...bring lots of snacks... today I only thought of buscuits but now I think I should have also packed cut fruits..normally I would bring some but today my mind was somewhere else!

So Kasyfi's been playing with on old stack of recycled paper which has old print out of documents on it, which Kash loves coz it's not his normal stuff. He's been playing with real pens, hole punchers, staplers, scissors, the ofice telephone (which conveniently doesnt work!), stamp pad and an old chop I used to use back when I was a teacher.

He's really working quietly... siuk eh! so calming to watch...hahhaha... would be a different story if we were to do this at home!

Here's a little work station I prepared for Kasyfi and Nawi just incase I need to bring one of them in the afternoons. One of our helpers is going back, contract finished, and the other maid at home is not that confident looking after both boys on her own because when they both get together they really are a handful..!! (and i really don't wana leave both kids to the one maid... she might have a heartattack!) Add in a little Woody in for now....

Here's something I thought of trying out... Potty Charts.. sooo cute.. It seems to be working woth Kasyfi.. he finds it fun sticking stars up on the chart... also helps that this particular potty that I got comes with a flush button... it sings encouragement and the stars light up if you do a successful 'wee'... yes it KNOWS when you've actually done a wee!! hahhaha... the sensors are very good ;)

For added support, I stuck pictures up on the wall of kids on the potty and hand washing cartoons. I love seeing it..hehhe..

Oh and the photo up there is a picture of Kasyfi on the potty few months back....
